little throwback : Rhodes (part 2)

As promised, I wanted to do today the second and last part of my Rhodes throwback (*part one*). In my opinion, Rhodes is really a must-see place. It's not expensive at all, and soooo beautiful. There's really much to see, and the people are extremely friendly. So if you still don't know where to go for the last few days of summer, you should definitely check it out!

Relationships are a quite tricky subject in my opinion. Movies and books show us from little on that love goes hand in hand with relationships and happiness. And as we grow up, we get to see another side of all of that. A more ugly side that films and books simply skip.

Of course : relationships can be pretty nice. I guess that everybody likes the idea of having a special someone who is always there for you, who listens and cares, who would do anything just to see you happy. Everybody wishes finding their special somebody one day, and that's okay.

But the problem is that a realtionship also has a few other sides. One of them is the shadow side :  discussions, tears, heartbreaks, etc. And that side alone can be quite terrifying, I know. You have to compromise, to hold yourself back, to forgive and forget. And that's not always as easy as one think. Every relationship is somehow different, and in a few lucky ones there is really little to see of this shadow side (as I called it). And actually, that's how it has to be.

A relationship is there to support you, and bring the best out of everything and everybody, especially yourself. Of course, you'll have to work on that relationship and accept that it can't always be as perfect as in the Disney movies that you watched as a little child.

A relationship can add a nice bonus in life, but it shouldn't be the main focus, as nowadays most of them don't last forever, and so your main focus wouldn't do either. In my opinion, this ephemerality is due to the fact that we live in a sort of throwaway society. We don't try to get old or broken things to work again ; we go out and simply buy something new instead, because it is way easier. And that's how most people also act in a relationship : if it doesn't work by itself, they'll find some other person with whom it will work for some time again without any effort.

Nevertheless don't forget that it has to make you happy in first place. You are what you need to take care of most, also in a relationship. Don't forget your own happiness in order to make another person smile. Don't forget to respect and love yourself first. Because at the end of the day, you're the only person that actually will be there for the rest of your life.

Try your best to make it work, but if it doesn't, then let it go. It doesn't bring you further if you hold on to something that is irreparably broken or makes you more sad and depressed than happy. I know that most people (especially teenagers) won't believe me if I say that you'll get over it, but you will. I won't say that you will feel better in a few days or weeks time. No. You will cry, and you will hate the other person, everybody around you, your life and perhaps even yourself for some time. But it will get better. You'll get better. And some day, you will find a person that will make you as happy as you deserve to be, and accept you for the person you are. And until that day, you'll have to get your sh*t together and move on.

pencil skirt and adidas shirt

T-shirt by Adidas // Skirt by Antonio Cosentino // Sneakers by Adidas // Jeans Jacket by Bik Bok
Bag by Gianfranco Lotti // Sunglasses by Prada // Choker by Forever 21

I'll have to admit that this skirt is probably the most uncomfortable thing to walk in in the whole world. That's probably also the reason why I have never worn in before, but I really love the way it looks so I gave it a chance a few days ago.

The skirt itself looks quite elegant. Paired with a basic blouse and some heels, it's your perfect companion for a chic dinner or a night out. Nevertheless, I tried to style it down with my favorite Adidas sneakers, a simple white Adidas T-Shirt and a jeans jacket, so it was more appropriate for daytime. To top the look of, I combined two chokers that I got at Forever21, wore my beloved sunglasses by Prada and my current everyday-bag by Gianfranco Lotti.

Vienna Sightseeing (Recap Part II)

While our stay, we visited two different castles. The first one was 'Schönbrunn' (pictures above), which I quite enjoyed as  place. It had the most beautiful fountain out of marmor I've ever seen in my life, and the statues were incredibly nice, too. ( what I wore )

Nevertheless, in my opinion the second castle called 'Belvedere' was even more beautiful. I really liked the gardens, the massive white main building, the state rooms and the exposition of the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. Definitely a must-see! (what I wore )

I could continue raving about both of them for hours, but pictures say more than a 1000 words ever can. So just enjoy the pictures, and hopefully you'll get the occasion to see both of them in person one day (if you haven't until now).

Vienna Sightseeing (Recap Part I)

As promised, I wanted to share another few pictures about our sightseeing trips in Vienna. I know that a few recap-pictures won't be capable to show you the whole beauty of this city (for that, you'll have to see it with your own eyes), but I hope that it'll still give you a little impression of what it was like.

One of the main attractions for me personally was the original house of the famous Austrian artist Friedrich Hundertwasser which is nowadays used as a museum for his works (mainly). The architecture is spectacular, aswell as his paintings and plans for other buildings (such as churches for example).

Another very beautiful museum was the Albertina Museum which had an exposition about Monet, Picasso and a few other famous painters of the classical modernism. Definitely check out the antique building and the current exposition while you're in Vienna!

The 'Stephansdom' is a church that is located in the heart of Vienna. You'll probably pass by at one moment or another while in Vienna. I'd recommend also visiting the inside of the church!

I'd also recommend you checking out the little side alleys everywhere, as the architecture is really impressing no matter where you go in Vienna. And who knows? You might even bump into some really cute fountain (as we did) or bistro.
